Relevance of Outbound Training in India

Outbound training is an excellent way of enriching the employees with a new zeal and skill sets. With growing competition and technological advancement, it has also become a growing trend in India and many corporate houses are conducting outbound training sessions.


According to a popular proverb, you can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation. Very true in all perspective, as play and enjoyment are activities which reveal the actual mindset of a person. Outbound training is also a kind of experiential learning in which a group of individuals forms an organization gather at an outdoor place and take part in a number of sports and adventurous activities both physically and mentally challenging. It is kind of a reflective learning process that exists among the members.
Leaning can be better accomplished through experience which consists of reflection and action. It fosters the abilities of individual on past events, to grab the own actions of an individual and discovering new ways of dealing with similar situation in the future. Some of the areas which could be well impacted through outbound training include time management, goal prioritization, conflict resolution, mutual communication, preparing strategies, planning and organizing and delegation.

Team spirit and improved self confidence are two other advantages provided by outbound training. It provides the employees with techniques and skills to discover new facets of each other, create a better bonding amidst each other in such a way that would not be possible in an inbound training session. In case of outbound training, such scenario are used that employees faces during their everyday work. Alongside, it invigorates the abilities of the individual to find effective solutions to the problems they face in the activities. The employees can generate the ability to overcome hurdles that are prevalent in a number of areas during their day-to-day employment. 

By reflecting and utilizing the techniques they learnt during the training makes them better team players and increases their self confidence. It also awakens the dormant skills existing within them that ultimately result into better composition of a member. All in whole, outbound training instills a feel of team spirit and self confidence in every member. As it’s a concept of shared learning, ultimately it results to the better performance of the team and better performance of the organization.

However, there are some people in the corporate audiences who are still not in favor of outbound training and think outbound training may result in a waste of time and energy. They believe that participant will focus more on fun activities and sports and the learning process will become the second priority. While this may be true at some point, the problem can easily be eliminated by selecting the right kind of tasks. A facilitator, who has adequate knowledge and experience in such training, can lead the members towards their core priority which is learning and reflection.

The bottom line is, there is no such process as good as outbound training in India available to unveil the real skills of the employees. Providing better performance and results to the company is the first priority of every team member and providing the employees with some enjoyable moments is also the responsibility of the organization. The outbound training is the finest blend of these two, which does not only ensure the overall growth of the employees, but enriches the organization with some skilled and dedicated brains.
