Outbound training is an excellent way of enriching the employees with a new zeal and skill sets. With growing competition and technological advancement, it has also become a growing trend in India and many corporate houses are conducting outbound training sessions.
According to a popular
proverb, you can discover more about a person in an hour of play than
in a year of conversation. Very true in all perspective, as play and
enjoyment are activities which reveal the actual mindset of a person.
Outbound training is also a kind of experiential learning in which a
group of individuals forms an organization gather at an outdoor place
and take part in a number of sports and adventurous activities both
physically and mentally challenging. It is kind of a reflective
learning process that exists among the members.
Leaning can be better
accomplished through experience which consists of reflection and
action. It fosters the abilities of individual on past events, to
grab the own actions of an individual and discovering new ways of
dealing with similar situation in the future. Some of the areas which
could be well impacted through outbound training include time
management, goal prioritization, conflict resolution, mutual
communication, preparing strategies, planning and organizing and
delegation.
Team spirit and improved
self confidence are two other advantages provided by outbound
training. It provides the employees with techniques and skills to
discover new facets of each other, create a better bonding amidst
each other in such a way that would not be possible in an inbound
training session. In case of outbound training, such scenario are
used that employees faces during their everyday work. Alongside, it
invigorates the abilities of the individual to find effective
solutions to the problems they face in the activities. The employees
can generate the ability to overcome hurdles that are prevalent in a
number of areas during their day-to-day employment.
By reflecting and
utilizing the techniques they learnt during the training makes them
better team players and increases their self confidence. It also
awakens the dormant skills existing within them that ultimately
result into better composition of a member. All in whole, outbound
training instills a feel of team spirit and self confidence in every
member. As it’s a concept of shared learning, ultimately it results
to the better performance of the team and better performance of the
organization.
However, there are some
people in the corporate audiences who are still not in favor of
outbound training and think outbound training may result in a waste
of time and energy. They believe that participant will focus more on
fun activities and sports and the learning process will become the
second priority. While this may be true at some point, the problem
can easily be eliminated by selecting the right kind of tasks. A
facilitator, who has adequate knowledge and experience in such
training, can lead the members towards their core priority which is
learning and reflection.
The bottom line is, there
is no such process as good as outbound training in India available to
unveil the real skills of the employees. Providing better performance
and results to the company is the first priority of every team member
and providing the employees with some enjoyable moments is also the
responsibility of the organization. The outbound training is the
finest blend of these two, which does not only ensure the overall
growth of the employees, but enriches the organization with some
skilled and dedicated brains.
